Summer 2024 School Leavers – Certificate Collection Event
For students who left George Abbot in Summer 2024 you will be able collect your exam certificates on Tuesday 28 & Wednesday 29 January 2025 in Elmslie Hall between 4:00pm-7:00pm.
If a student is unable to collect in person the student can nominate a third party to collect on their behalf but it MUST be the student who emails their permission in advance of this event to [email protected] and not the parent. The nominated third party MUST bring photo ID in order for us to release the certificates. Alternatively, students can opt to have their certificates posted by Recorded Delivery by completing the form below in this section and submitting this to the Exams Office with payment made via Wisepay.
If certificates remain uncollected you will run the risk of these being destroyed in 2026.
Summer 2022 School Leavers – Final opportunity to collect in January 2025. Uncollected certificates will be securely destroyed in line with JCQ regulations.
Standard Certificate Distribution Process
Certificates for students taking examinations during the summer A Level and GCSE exam season will only be sent to schools once the Review of Results process has been completed. The Exam Boards will normally distribute certificates around mid-November. All certificates will be checked and verified.
Students returning to school after having taken examinations during the summer exam season will receive their certificates during a nominated tutor time.
Students who have left George Abbot will be able to collect their certificates the following January, during a set collection period. The dates and times for this set collection will be published here. Ex-students are required to bring Photo ID when collecting. Ex-students may nominate another individual to collect on their behalf but MUST advise the Exams Office in advance via email. The nominated individual must also bring Photo ID.
George Abbot can only retain uncollected certificates for a period of one year, after which point they must be securely destroyed in accordance with JCQ regulations. However, you should be aware that some Exam Boards do not offer a replacement certificate service. In such circumstances the Exam Boards will issue a Certifying Statement of Results.
Alternatively students can request these to be posted via Recorded Delivery. To complete the form click on the image below and submit this form together with payment to the Exams Office.
