It is of fundamental importance to us that our school is happy, safe, courteous and cohesive. We support our students to become self-regulated, self-motivated and quietly confident in who they are. Wellbeing is a vital base for successful learning.

Each year group has a non-teaching Head of Year, a teaching staff member as their Inclusion Manager and a team of ten Form Tutors. We have three Home-School Link Workers and two Medical and Wellbeing Officers and offer a range of interventions to support emotional development and resilience. Our SEN team is expert and offers high quality support for our students with additional learning needs. They are based in our Moloney building and offer a welcoming space where children access personalised provision to ensure they gain the confidence and skill to achieve and be their best.

Youth Workers

Any student can make an appointment to see the youth worker at any time. The school works with the Matrix Trust (https://matrixtrust.com/) to provide support for young people who need to get help and advice on a range of issues. To make an appointment to see one of our youth workers, your child should first speak to their Head of Year. Additionally, the Youth Workers will be visible on playgrounds and around school wearing their green Matrix jumpers, so that any child can speak to them directly.

School Mental Health Practitioner

Referrals to the school’s mental health practitioner can be made through the Head of Year. All referrals are confidential and placed on a waiting list, which is prioritised in order of need. Parental permission is required for counselling to begin and a signed document is needed from the child and parent/carer. Sessions usually last for 6 weeks and are reviewed at that stage. If you are concerned about the mental health of your child, you should contact your GP to make an appointment as well as informing the Head of Year.
